Energetic Imbalances: What They Are & How They Affect You

Imbalance is simply the opposite of balance. It can cause or be associated with disorder within the body, stressing the homeostasis (balance) beyond what the body can manage. This can lead to a disorder or disease. Dis-ease is the absence of ease, the absence of balance, the absence of self-healing just as dis-order is the absence of order within one’s body and energy field. Imbalances slow or stop the natural rhythm of stress and recovery in our body, ultimately stalling healing. When removed, the pressure is taken off of the stress and recovery rhythm, allowing healing to move forward.


Energetic imbalances can impact our physical, emotional, mental, and/or spiritual being. It is important to note that imbalances are entirely unique. They are completely individual and have their own unique frequency or vibration. Each imbalance has its own story. The effect an imbalance has on a person depends on that person’s state and the severity of the imbalance. Some bodies process imbalances well while others may struggle. The bottom line is that we all have them, and they all impact us differently due to our unique compositions and energetic fields.


How Do You Know If You Have an Energetic Imbalance?

Imbalances can manifest in many ways, including but not limited to:

Physical Symptoms:

  • Fatigue or low energy

  • Chronic pain or tension

  • Headaches or migraines

  • Sleep disturbances (insomnia or excessive sleepiness)

  • Frequent illness or a weakened immune system

  • Digestive issues (bloating, nausea, constipation, or diarrhea)

  • Hormonal imbalances

Emotional Symptoms:

  • Unexplained mood swings

  • Anxiety or persistent worry

  • Depression or feelings of hopelessness

  • Irritability or short temper

  • Feeling emotionally "numb" or disconnected

  • Overwhelming stress or burnout

Mental Symptoms:

  • Brain fog or difficulty concentrating

  • Negative self-talk or self-doubt

  • Lack of motivation or procrastination

Spiritual Symptoms:

Why It’s Important to Clear Imbalances

Interestingly, imbalances can actually serve a purpose. They help us recognize where our bodies and minds need to strengthen. They teach us and push our bodies to higher health. However, when they go unattended, ignored, or are severe enough that our body is unable to process them independently, they can wear down our system and hinder the body’s natural ability to heal. We must pay attention to our bodies, learn to listen to and recognize the symptoms of imbalance, and clear trapped energies that are holding us back from healing.
